Job Duties
1. Review project plans, drawings, and client sketches to confirm dimensions, materials, and construction requirements.
2. Plan the build process and coordinate materials required for cabinet and millwork jobs.
3. Build, assemble, and fit cabinets, drawers, doors, and related millwork components to required specifications and tolerances.
4. Trim, fit, and align components to ensure proper clearances, functionality, and finish quality.
5. Perform finishing work as required (e.g., sanding, surface preparation, stain/sealer/clear coat application) to meet project specifications.
6. Install and adjust hardware such as hinges, slides, pulls, and soft-close mechanisms; verify smooth operation.
7. Inspect completed work for accuracy, fit, and finish; complete touch-ups and minor repairs as needed.
8. Maintain a safe and organized work environment and follow company occupational health and safety procedures.
9. Track material usage, report shortages or damage, and communicate progress and issues to ensure projects remain on schedule.
10. Assist with site measurements and provide installation support when required.
11. Provide labour input and material estimates for smaller jobs when requested.
